The Kennedy Scholarship with Seven

The Kennedy Foundation is proud to announce the establishment of a scholarship for a young aspiring and newly graduated journalism student in partnership with 7NEWS.

This new initiative will become part of the Foundation’s expanded direction in supporting young aspiring journalists wishing to enter the industry.

The Kennedy Foundation Scholarship will provide 12 weeks of in-house comprehensive work experience across 7NEWS media platforms such as;  broadcast television, online and social media.

Foundation Chair, Carl Dumbrell, described it this way;

“It may be trite to say, but our youth are our future, and that’s nowhere as true as in the media. This scholarship will give a young graduate an intensive taste of real-world media; they will see the best in action and will be mentored on their twelve-week tour. It is a great opportunity for those who aspire to be a great journalist.”

The lucky winner will experience the real high-pressure world of modern journalism in all its forms, and we thank 7NEWS for their enthusiastic partnership in this endeavour, Jason Morrison, News Director 7NEWS Sydney, said;

“7NEWS has a great history of finding and training great young journalists. We are proud to say that more than half of our team in our Sydney News headquarters started out with the 7Network.”

The recipient will receive $12,000 stipend for the 12-week duration of the scholarship.
