NEW AWARDS SUPERVISING JUDGING PANEL ANNOUNCED

To underline the commitment of the Kennedy Foundation to transparent, ethical, and good governance practice the Foundation Board has announced the creation of an expert panel to supervise the judging of our annual awards for outstanding journalism.

We are honoured to have three experienced and outstanding practitioners join us. They are:

  • …is an award-winning journalist for her reporting on the Meja massacre in Kosovo who has had an extensive career in print and radio journalism. Linda has also campaigned on issues around freedom of speech and women’s affairs.

    Five years with the national parliamentary press gallery initially as political reporter with Sydney commercial radio station 2WS, then the Daily Telegraph and finally with the ABC.
    ABC foreign correspondent reporting from the Middle East and Russia.
    ABC correspondent for Radio Australia reporting from across Asia And the Pacific
    Former editorial policies manager and training for the ABC

  • Professor AJ Brown (AM) has had an illustrious career over 30 years leading on issues such as integrity, governance, transparency, gender equality and whistleblower protection.

    Professor in public policy and law in the School of Government & International Relations at Griffith University.
    Co-leader of the Centre for Governance & Public Policy’s integrity, leadership and public trust program.
    Chair of Transparency International Australia, the world anti-corruption organisation
    A senior investigator for the Commonwealth Ombudsman and Associate to Justice G E Tony Fitzgerald AC KC.
    He currently leads a $1.2 million Australian Research Council Discovery project on public trust, mistrust and distrust.
    Past President of the Australian Political Studies Association (2017-18).
    A Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia.
    A Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law.
    In 2023, he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the law and public policy, particularly through whistleblower protectio

  • Allan Hogan has had a long career at the top of some of the best journalism outlets in the country. He reported from the Vietnam War and was the only Australian journalist to interview the notorious, Idi Amin.
